Costa T+14 Saturday HOME

Saturday was spent waiting. Waiting to be taken to the airport, waiting in line to check in, waiting in line to go into security, waiting for the flight, and finally, waiting during the flight. Actually, I’m writing this while on the plane and everything is fresh.

There really wasn’t much interesting today except that I understood a bunch more in conversations around me in the Spanish while in the airport. So I have that going for me, which is nice.

On the flight, I caught up on a few Security Now! Podcasts and vegged out to some music.

We landed in Atlanta a little after 7pm. US customs was really odd – get your suitcase, walk it around the corner, put it on another belt, go through a security screen coming back into the country then go to the normal carousel to pick it up again. Get home at 10:30p. There’s certainly a need for improvement in THAT process. Each part had 20-40 minute lines. Immigration was fairly trivial – I’m guessing that FBI background check from prior employment helps the agents be comfortable. I does feel a little odd being interviewed by someone determining whether I return home or not whose English is broken.

Hot shower taken. HOT running water is really nice.
